Dr. Carolyn Nesbitt is a Registered Clinical Psychologist who has worked at BC Children’s Hospital, Riverview Psychiatric Hospital, and the Simon Fraser University Clinic in Vancouver, Canada, plus in her own 25 years private practice.  As a Canadian, she has studied the Satir model with John Banmen since 1995.  She is on the faculty of the Banmen Satir China Management Company (BSCMC), training mental health professionals to deepen their work through the Satir method. She is an international keynote speaker and a leading expert on the power of meditation. Her work can be found in multiple volumes of The Satir Journal: Transformational Systemic Therapy. She is a member of the Training Directorate Board for The Satir Institute of the Pacific.  She teaches advanced workshops for mental health professionals in the areas of Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and Leadership. She has an extensive training background in Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy (STST).  She is also highly trained and skilled in EMDR, hypnosis and CBT.  She is certified in “Emotional and Spiritual Care in Disasters”, National Disaster Training Program, from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.  Her PhD research is in the areas of Cognitive Neural Pathways in Eating Disorders, and her Masters research is in the area of Early Attachment, Adult Attachment and Cognitive Perceptions, Expectations and Yearnings of the Self.

People come to me for help when they can't cope. Many feel completely stuck and just haven't been able to shift.  It is really moving for me when we work together and my client feels happier, excited about life and at peace with the past.
