Many people come to me because their life is painful right now, and yet the events that caused the initial pain may have occurred long ago. My work helps heal the parts of the past that are connected with your present life, so that you may experience more peace, joy and freedom now. With others, such as teens or people who are experiencing anxiety, the present pain is often connected to a fear of what might happen. Here, we address negative thoughts, helping you feel more connected to yourself and your positive Life Energy. But we don't stop there. I work with body, mind and Life Essence. Therapy is a deep experience. You will stretch yourself as I help you access your own inner resources, such as your courage, your wisdom and your integrity. You will leave each session with much to reflect upon. As well, I anchor insight with practical steps forward in your daily life.
Services and Payment
I find that people work through trauma best in 90 minutes. That is a good amount of time to go deep into the issue, make new decisions inside yourself, and come out with a practical plan as to how to move forward in daily life. While sessions do not have to be every week, usually we need a certain number of sessions to make real change happen. When dealing with trauma, I suggest you plan to give yourself 8 sessions at 90 minutes each in order to experience a real difference. More complex trauma may require further sessions to completely deal with it; however, in my experience, you will feel a difference after 8 sessions.
Referrals Both professional and self-referrals are welcome. I have great results with adults and teenagers.
Fees Many private or third-party insurances cover all or part of the fees, as regular BC Medical Services Plan (MSP) does not cover therapy. Because I am a registered licensed psychologist, often people get reimbursed for some and pay the rest privately.
